The tweet honestly doesn’t say very much, and more to the point, it’s just a short video clip of what appears to be a very detailed, beautiful, and digital reconstruction of what is either a Big Bang or Supernova. Implying that a new galaxy is being born which, if you read between the lines, is basically NVIDIA implying that its new graphics cards are going launch with a “bang”. NVIDIA did also make another tweet prior to the teaser clip, although that was more of a troll post than anything else. In any case, no sooner had the GPU brand posted the clip, it also posted a teaser poster at the top of it official Twitter account.

— NVIDIA GeForce (@NVIDIAGeForce) August 10, 2020 The posters shows off the blinding explosion, but more importantly, it also has the hastag #UltimateCountdown written next to it, along with the words “21 days, 21 years”. There’s no prize for guess that the 21 days portion refers to the end of the alleged countdown which, if you do the simple math, is 31 August (1 September for some of us). As for the 21 years part, that’s also a very obvious indication of just how long NVIDIA has been in the graphics market. So, in a sense, 31 August is set to be a double whammy; not only does it get to celebrate its birthday, it’ll also have a proverbial cake to share with everyone.

More to the point, it’s pretty obvious – given the font and its use of NVIDIA’s traditional use of lime green – that the graphics cards that are set to be announced are its GeForce RTX 30 series, although to be fair, we’re not sure if NVIDIA is married to the naming convention just yet. On that note, we’ll have to wait until 31 August if its top-tier card will really ship out with the alleged 24GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and unique cooler shroud that’s been circulating online.
