To start, there’s the Spot Explorer model, which is “designed for developers eager to explore how flexible mobile robots can be adapted for tasks ranging from industrial inspection to entertainment”. And this comes with a jaw-dropping starting price of US$74500 (~RM318,562). You can have a range of other add-ons for it, which equally high prices. For example, you can get extra batteries for US$4620 (~RM19755) apiece. Even extra ports come at a price of US$1275 (~RM5449).You can also get Spot in the Enterprise and Academic packages, for if you want to deploy the robot en masse or to use it for educational purposes. Its obvious that Spot is not for just anybody. In addition to being prohibitively expensive, it also has mostly industrial use case scenarios. But for companies that think they’ll be able to make use of it, the option is now available, at least. And there’s also the matter of it only being on sale in the US. Other countries can only lease Spot. (Source: Boston Dynamics)
