For those unfamiliar, Setel allows users to make fuel purchases at Petronas stations across the nation via their mobile devices without having to leave their vehicles. Users can find the newly included feature in the e-Wallet by navigating to the Transport section which is located under the Do More category. The app will also prompt users to link to their existing Setel account, or to register a new one if they have not done so.
Since the service is accessible within Boost itself, the e-payment solution’s app is not required to be present or downloaded to the user’s smartphone in order to function. However, only the cashless refueling feature is available for the e-Wallet’s users at this time. Other functions such as the ability to use Setel Pay for Kedai Mesra purchases and the new Deliver2Me feature are not included in the integration.
In conjunction with the partnership, both Boost and Setel are giving users a 10% cashback to 200,000 newly registered Setel users. The cashback is capped at RM5 upon a minimum spend of RM30 for their first transaction using the e-Wallet at Setel-enabled Petronas stations. This would then be automatically credited into the user’s Setel Partner Wallet in their Boost account within seven working days. Any cashback stored will be automatically deducted upon a minimum spend of RM20 with Boost at their next visit to a participating Petronas station. (Source: Boost press release / Official Instagram)
